Bay Area City Puts Soda Tax Up for a Vote
The Richmond City Council a few weeks ago voted to place a measure on the Nov. 6 ballot that would place a penny-per-ounce tax on soda and other sweetened beverages. If it passes, the Bay Area city will become the first municipality in the nation to implement such a tax.
